Major in Social Welfare
The Major in Social Welfare cultivates the competence and vision of professional and creative managers and practitioners by studying major issues of knowledge, technology and value in public and private social welfare organization operation and practicing them from the academic and practical point of view. It establishes professionalism and systematic way of responding to needs. It aims to strengthen capacity of social welfare practitioners. As a professional management course, this major also aims to strengthen the professional competence of practitioners in the field of social welfare by learning professional intervention techniques such as handling of family violence as well as undertaking major subjects such as human resource management and marketing management. Candidates for this major are:
- Those who wish to operate managerial level or future welfare institution of the current institution
- Those who want to cultivate field work force through recent clinical practice techniques
- Those who want to get social worker qualification
Major in Counseling Psychology
The Major in Counseling Psychology is a major field of psychology in which individuals understand the various difficulties of the mind that people experience, such as those concerning individual and family, based on psychological theory and provide effective intervention plan. This major offers theoretical knowledge and practical experience to train counseling professionals in the community. In order to do this, we provide professional knowledge and practical training required in consulting-related centers, institutions, welfare facilities, etc. In addition, we provide specialized courses such as counseling for children, counseling for the elderly, family violence, and addiction counseling to enhance counseling competencies by subject and problem area. In particular, we are looking for the following people in this major:
- Those who want to acquire counseling qualifications
- Practitioners who need to strengthen their competence and expertise in counseling in various fields
- Those who want to build expertise and experience in counseling psychology and conduct in-depth research
Major in Caritas Science
Caritas Science is an academic discipline that contributes to the spread of love by systematically describing and promoting social practices (social welfare, social education, health care, etc.) that advocate human dignity in terms of Christian thought and spirituality. Caritas Science studies the objects and subjects (individuals, groups, churches) of social practice for human dignity in the boundaries between theology and humanities and social science. In this way, we have academically supported and accompanied the practice of a world in which no one is thrown away, a world in which everyone is treated like God, and a world that loves our neighbors like ourselves. We seek theoretical and practical answers to the questions about the Catholic Church's social welfare, motivation and spirituality, ethical standards and practices, organizational culture and principles of practice. Candidates for this major are:
- Those who wish to grow into leaders or educators of Catholic social welfare organizations
- Catholic officials and workers in the relevant organizations and groups
- Catholic social workers in Korea who are demanding realistic professionalism
