Scholarships

The scholarship policy at KKOTTONGNAE UNIVERSITY helps to ensure that the university will be accessible to talented students no matter what their resources. Undergraduates with high academic potential may be eligible for our rich scholarship program.

All the newly-admitted are exempt from 50% of the tuition fee. KKOTTONGNAE UNIVERSITY runs various types of internal and external scholarship programs. As a result of the active financial aid, we topped the list as the largest scholarship provider among universities in local province and ranked 4th nationwide. We will continue the financial support to improve the educational and welfare environment for our young talents.

Excellence A Scholarship An admitted student for regular & early admissions who has ranked in the top 12-23% of his/her high school class before SAT (should rank over the top 7-11% in 2 out of 4 subject areas)

※ Note: The scholar must have earned an overall GPA of 3.5.
Tuition fee (excluding admissions fee) exemption for the next 2 years / 4 semesters
Excellence B Scholarship An admitted student for regular & early admissions who has ranked in the top 12-23% of his/her high school class before SAT

※ Note: The scholar must have earned an overall GPA of 3.5.
Tuition fee (excluding admissions fee) exemption for the next year / 2 semesters
Jung Jin-suk Scholarship An admitted student who is a monk or nun and is referred by monastery or convent elders

※ Note: He/She who has earned an overall GPA of 3.0 is eligible for full-tuition scholarship. An overall GPA of under 3.0 means 50% exemption of the tuition.
Tuition fee (half or full) exemption for the next 4 years / 8 semesters
Rainbow Scholarship An admitted students who is immigrant woman married 50% exemption of the tuition fee for the next 4 years / 8 semesters
Han ul Scholarship An admitted students who is the disabled 50% exemption of the tuition fee for the next 4 years / 8 semesters
Social Welfare Scholarship An officially-registered child breadwinner or a resident in a child welfare facility

Freshman Tuition Grants
  1. Superior Academic Performance (SAP) Scholarship

    SAP A Scholarship Students whose overall GPA has ranked in the top 2.5% of the class Full tuition for the next semester
    SAP B Scholarship Students whose overall GPA has ranked in the top 10% of the class 70% of the tuition for the next semester
    SAP C Scholarship Students whose overall GPA has ranked in the top 22% of the class Aid amounting to 1 million Korean Won for the next semester
  2. Work Study Scholarship
    • Money earned by working part-time while in school
  3. Overseas Volunteer Scholarship
    • Selected students as a volunteer overseas by a certified inter/external institution are awarded.
  4. Community Service Award Scholarship
    • Exemplary students who worked as a school staff or are recognized as contributor to the school development or who are actively involved in social work receive this scholarship.
  5. National Service Award Scholarship
    • This scholarship goes to the eligible veterans and members of their immediate family.
  6. Goshi Scholarship
    • The scholarship is given to students who passed 'Goshi' . ( Goshi means the Korean national examination as a gate way for being a high ranking public officials. The exam area includes: law, government administration, foreign affairs, science & engineering, local district administration, certified public accountant, etc.))
  7. International Student Scholarship
    • This is awarded by the president of KKOTTONGNAE UNIVERSITY to students from abroad who was determined as qualified.
  8. Faith, Hope & Love Scholarship
    • Students who do the best to practice the KKOTTONGNAE spirit and serve their neighbors sincerely are eligible for this scholarship.
  9. Choi Gui-dong Scholarship
    • Faithful students who hope to join a convent or monastery trying to embody the KKOTTONGNAE spirit and serve their neighbors sincerely are eligible for this scholarship.
  10. Social Welfare Scholarship
    • Those who come from a needy family assisted by the government are eligible for this scholarship.
    • Those who come from low-income groups or a needy family assisted by the government are eligible for this scholarship.
  11. Unification Scholarship
    • Regi stered North Koreans for education are eligible for this scholarship.
